Karawang – Jawa Barat – (SIN) – Sebuah mobil odong-odong dengan nomor polisi B 1636 HD terperosok ke saluran irigasi di Dusun Sentul I, Desa Pulojaya, Kecamatan Lemahabang, Kabupaten Karawang, sekitar pukul 09.00 pagi WIB. Kendaraan yang membawa sekitar 17 penumpang itu mengalami kecelakaan saat dalam perjalanan menuju acara hajatan di Cilamaya, Senin (4/11–2024).
Kapolres Karawang, AKBP Edwar Zulkarnain, melalui Kasi Humas IPDA Solihin, mengungkapkan bahwa kecelakaan terjadi ketika sopir mobil odong–odong, Suhendi, warga Desa Sindangkarya, Kecamatan Kutawaluya, mencoba menghindari tabrakan dengan pengendara sepeda motor yang menyerempet bumper kanan depan mobil.
“Dalam upaya menghindari benturan, sopir membanting setir ke kiri, namun tak bisa mengontrol kendaraan hingga akhirnya terperosok ke irigasi karena adanya lubang di jalan,” kata IPDA Solihin.
Mobil tersebut melaju dengan kecepatan sekitar 20 km/jam dari arah Rengasdengklok menuju Cilamaya. Meskipun kerugian material ditaksir mencapai Rp5 juta, seluruh penumpang dilaporkan selamat tanpa mengalami luka serius.
Tim kepolisian dari Polsek Lemahabang yang dipimpin oleh Aiptu Abi Ramli (Kanit Intel) dan Briptu Restu Khoerul Akbar (Piket Reskrim) segera datang ke lokasi kejadian setelah mendapat informasi mengenai insiden tersebut. Mereka membantu proses evakuasi penumpang dan mengamankan kendaraan yang terjebak di irigasi.
Selama proses evakuasi, situasi di lokasi tetap kondusif, dan tidak ada kendala berarti. Pihak kepolisian mengimbau para pengemudi untuk lebih berhati-hati, terutama saat melintasi jalan yang rusak, demi menghindari insiden serupa di masa mendatang.
“Kami harap kejadian ini bisa menjadi pengingat bagi pengendara untuk selalu waspada dan memperhatikan kondisi jalan,” pungkas IPDA Solihin.
