Karawang-Jabar – (SIN) – Sebanyak 939 orang warga binaan Lembaga Pemasyarakatan (Lapas) kelas IIA Karawang mendapat remisi atau pengurangan masa tahanan di Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) ke 79 kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia, Sabtu (17/8–2024).
Kepala Lapas Kelas IIA Karawang, Christo Toar mengatakan, tujuan dari remisi ini yakni sebagai dasar pemenuhan hak narapidana sesuai dengan UU No. 22 Tahun 2022 Tentang pemasyarakatan atas perilaku baik ditunjukkan melalui perubahan perilaku dan sebagai upaya mengurangi over kapasitas di Lapas Kelas IIA Karawang.
“Yang memperoleh Remisi Umum I sebanyak 920 orang, Remisi Umum II 11 orang, dan Remisi Umum II plus Subsider sebanyak 8 orang. Dengan demikian sebanyak 939 orang mendapatkan remisi,” ucapnya
Sementara itu, Bupati Karawang H. Aep Syaepuloh menuturkan, mewakili Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Karawang, pihaknya ingin menyampaikan ucapan HUT RI ke-79 kepada para jajaran Lapas Kelas IIA Karawang beserta seluruh warga binaan.
“Kami percaya bahwa tentunya ke depan hal-hal baik akan menanti saudara-saudara sekalian,” ungkapnya.
