Basuki Rahmat, Kepala Satpol PP Kabupaten Karawang menyampaikan. Menurutnya, aksi penertiban ini bertujuan untuk memperlancar perbaikan ruas jalan dan perbaikan drainase di sekitar gerbang tol Karawang Timur.
“Penertiban ini merupakan permohonan dari pihak Jasa Marga, karena selama ini di sepanjang jalan tersebut banyak genangan air. Maka dari itu akan di lakukan perbaikan drainase, sekaligus akan di lakukan peningkatan ruas jalan,” ujarnya.
Basuki menerangkan, sebelum melakukan penertiban, tim petugas gabungan telah melakukan sosialisasi dan memberikan surat edaran kepada para pemilik bangunan liar. Proses sosialisasi tersebut telah di lakukan secara bertahap dengan memberikan surat peringatan pertama selama tiga hari, kemudian surat peringatan kedua selama dua hari dan surat peringatan ketiga pada hari Rabu kemarin agar bangunan liar segera membereskan selama 1×24 jam.
“Sebelumnya, setelah kami mendapatkan surat permohonan dari Jasa Marga, kami kemudian melakukan sosialisasi dengan memberikan surat edaran kepada para pedagang pasir dan tambal ban, di sini sesuai SOP,” terangnya.
Lebih lanjut ia menuturkan, penertiban ini menyasar sebanyak 63 bangunan liar yang di nilai mengganggu kelancaran proyek perbaikan jalan dan drainase. Proses penertiban melibatkan sebanyak 200 personil dari petugas gabungan dan di dukung oleh 4 truk dari DLH serta 2 alat berat.
“Alhamdulillah pada proses penertibannya berjalan lancar, tanpa ada perlawanan dari masyarakat. Dalam penertiban kali ini Alhamdulillah tidak ada perlawanan, karena masyarakat sadar bahwa perbaikan ini di lakukan untuk kepentingan masyarakat,” kata Basuki.
