JAKARTA – (SIN) – SMSI – Menteri Koordinator Bidang Perekonomian (Menko Perekonomian) Airlangga Hartarto menegaskan pemerintah terus menjalankan komitmennya dalam penggunaan energi baru terbarukan (EBT). Menurutnya, pemerintah membidik pencapaian bauran EBT di tahun 2026 sebesar 23 persen.
Hal tersebut dikatakannya saat menghadiri acara penandatanganan kerja sama antara PT Kayan Hydro Energy (KHE) dengan Sumitomo Corporation terkait pembangunan PLTA Kayan Cascade.
Launching agreement PT Kayan Hydro Energy dan Sumitomo Corporation yang digelar di Hotel Fairmont Jakarta, Kamis (6/10) berlangsung meriah. Selain dihadiri oleh Menko Perekonomian Airlangga Hartarto, Kepala KSP Jendral TNI Purn. Moeldoko, Dubes Jepang untuk Indonesia Mr Kanasugi Kenji, Head of Infrastructure Business Asia and Oceania Sumitomo Satoshi Matsui, Direktur Sumitomo Indonesia Kenichi Ishikawa, Chief Representative Sumitomo Corporation Jakarta Project Coordination Office Eko Permanahadi, Direktur Utama KHE Andrew Sebastian Suryali, Direktur Operasional KHE Khaeroni, Anggota DPR RI dari daerah pemilihan Kalimantan Utara Deddy Sitorus dan juga dihadiri wartawan nasional dan internasional.
PLTA Kayan Cascade terletak di Provinsi Kalimantan Utara, tepatnya di Kecamatan Peso, Kabupaten Bulungan. Kapasitasnya sekitar 9.000 Megawatt, dan bakal menjadi PLTA terbesar di Indonesia. “Pemerintah Indonesia menargetkan 23 persen dari keseluruhan energi yang berasal dari energi renewable di tahun 2026,” ucap Airlangga dalam acara yang berlangsung di Hotel Fairmont Jakarta, Kamis, (6/10/2022).
“Oleh karena itu kerja sama ini diharapkan bisa meningkatkan percepatan dari pekerjaan Kayan Energi, dan tentu saya berharap bahwa di tahun 2023 sudah kelihatan pekerjaan fisiknya,” sambungnya.
Airlangga juga mengatakan, Presiden Joko Widodo juga telah memprioritaskan pengembangan transisi energi, dalam hal ini pengembangan energi yang di Kalimantan. Nantinya jika sudah beroperasi, PLTA Kayan Cascade akan menjadi bagian komitmen Indonesia dalam net zero emission (NZE) di tahun 2060.
Kepala Staf Kepresidenan (KSP) Jenderal TNI Purn Moeldoko menegaskan bahwa pembangunan PLTA Kayan Cascade merupakan komitmen bangsa Indonesia terhadap green energy. Dikatakan Moeldoko, proyek Kayan Cascade di Kalimantan Utara ini merupakan proyek monumental bagi Indonesia untuk menunjukkan pada dunia bahwa Indonesia punya semangat yang kuat dalam transformasi energi.
Sebagai informasi, KHE adalah pemrakarsa dan pengembang proyek Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air (PLTA) Kayan Cascade yang terbagi dalam 5 bendungan. Pada saat ini KHE sedang melakukan pembangunan infrastruktur awal bendungan.
PLTA Kayan Cascade di Kalimantan Utara ini merupakan proyek raksasa. Memiliki nilai investasi lebih dari 17 miliar dolar Amerika Serikat (AS). Jika dikonversi ke dalam rupiah, angka tersebut setara Rp258 triliun (asumsi kurs Rp15.178 per dolar AS).
Diperkirakan pada 2023 akan dilanjutkan untuk membangun infrastruktur pendukung bendungan dan bangunan pengelak (diversion channel) bendungan, yang menjadi anak tangga pertama dalam tangga Cascade.
Satoshi Matsui dalam pidatonya sebelum penandatanganan mengatakan, ia percaya bahwa PLTA Kayan Cascade akan menjadi dasar dari sejarah Sumitomo berikutnya yang akan berkontribusi pada program transisi energi nasional di Indonesia untuk pertumbuhan berkelanjutan di masa depan. Hal ini tentunya untuk meningkatkan energi terbarukan dalam bauran energi nasional, dan untuk mengurangi emisi karbon sesuai dengan komitmen nasional dalam Perjanjian Paris dan COP26. Karena itu Sumitomo akan mengembangkan PLTA Kayan Cascade bersama dengan PT Kayan Hydro Energy untuk mendukung komitmen Pemerintah Indonesia.
Duta Besar Jepang untuk Indonesia Mr Kanasugi Kenji percaya bahwa kerja sama antara PT KHE dengan Sumitomo dalam proyek PLTA Kayan Cascade punya potensi besar dan bisa menjadi contoh kerja sama masa depan di bidang energi antara Jepang dan Indonesia.
Seperti dikatakan Direktur Utama PT KHE Andrew Sebastian Suryali, listrik yang dihasilkan oleh PLTA Kayan Cascade ini akan menyuplai kawasan industri hijau yang dikembangkan PT. Indonesia Strategis Industri (PT ISI), dan kebutuhan listrik di Pulau Kalimantan pada umumnya.
Dengan terbangunnya PLTA Kayan maka daya tarik kawasan industri hijau ini akan semakin kuat bagi seluruh kalangan industri yang peduli pada pengurangan emisi karbon. Dan pihak Sumitomo Corporation berencana untuk mempromosikan kawasan ini kepada perusahaan- perusahaan Jepang yang sekarang ini mempunyai komitmen yang solid untuk menggunakan energi listrik yang berasal dari sumber energi terbarukan.
